The steps to a successful project
The first step towards beginning your project is to identify what the end result will look like. You may have been planning your project for years, and have already assembled a complete portfolio full of pictures, concepts, design inspirations, and the like. Or, you may just be starting out and are in the discovery process of creating your design from scratch. Perhaps you are in a time sensitive scenario where multiple decisions need to be made within an abbreviated schedule. Whatever the case, Cabinet Fantastic has the experience to help you pull your project together in the style, budget and timeline that is tailored for your needs!

What to bring to the Initial Design Consultation

- If you have saved photos on Pinterest or Houzz, or other sources of information that reflect your tastes and design style, be sure to bring those along as well. If you are curious about exploring design style options you may find this link helpful to help clarify what your tastes might be
- Measurements- A rough idea of the space dimensions will be instrumental in to help establish an initial ballpark budgetary number. Don’t agonize on the accuracy of the measurements that you take, as they are initially just being used to understand the size of the project. For more on measuring, click here.
- Other items that have already been identified- Cabinetry selection is just a part of the overall pallet. All materials, however, must play nicely in the sandbox together, when considering the overall aesthetic! If you have already chosen, for example, your flooring material, or perhaps the countertop style, or appliances, etc., Cabinet Fantastic will incorporate those choices into the design pallet so you can have peace of mind knowing your choices work well together. If you have not made any of those selections-no worries! We can begin the process of building your custom pallet at the time of the Initial Design Consultation.
- Retainer agreement- After the information gathering from the consultation is gathered, and preliminary ballpark budget number is established and shared based upon your selections. At this time we hope to have gained your confidence in our experience and knowledge as industry leaders, as well as in our skill and ability to design and provide fantastic cabinetry for your project! To move forward we will require a retainer of $199 to begin the design process.
- Upon receipt of the design retainer, a site visit is scheduled and measurements are taken. Appliance selections are verified by model numbers, other known selections are recorded, and the Computer aided design process is initiated.
- Design Review- An initial design work up of the space is done in a few days and the next meeting (Design Review) is scheduled (email correspondence may be an option as well, though we strongly encourage this meeting be in person at our showroom). There are typically a few tweaks or revisions as part of the process at this point, which is to be expected. Our goal is to be thorough in making sure you are getting everything you want in your kitchen, even if it takes a little longer to get it right!
- Ordering-Once design is finalized and purchase amount is agreed upon, dimensioned documents are generated and included as part of the purchase agreement, to be initialed or signed and included in purchase packet. Payment is taken and product is ordered. Order confirmations are typically received within a few days after the time of order placement, and will include estimated lead times, so other schedules may be put in place based upon the arrival of the cabinetry.
- Delivery of full kitchen packages will deliver directly to your residence or address requested.
- Installation- Cabinet Fantastic does not install, but can refer installers upon request. We are also happy to communicate directly with your chosen installer throughout the process as well.
